I’m Katie (she/they), a counseling psychologist trained in the Netherlands. As a therapist working from a non-pathologizing approach, my goal is to help you understand yourself, improve your relationships, and create meaningful change in your life. I specialize in holistic therapy, customized to fit your unique experiences and needs. My focus areas include self-compassion, mindfulness, embodiment, and managing emotions.

I am passionate about providing therapy for expat women experiencing anxiety and depression. My master’s thesis research specifically explored expat/migrant women with chronic depression and their experiences with self-compassion and self-care.

Utilizing a blend of third-wave cognitive behavioral therapies (CBT) [such as acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) and dialectical behavior therapy (DBT)] and somatic therapy, I offer a comprehensive approach to mental health. For more information on the therapeutic modalities I use, click here. I strive to provide a safe and supportive space where you can explore your thoughts and feelings openly. Whether you’re dealing with anxiety, depression, trauma, or seeking personal growth, we can work together to build resilience, enhance self-awareness, and achieve your wellness goals.

My Background

In addition to undergraduate degrees in psychology and sociology and a Master of Arts in psychology with an emphasis in counseling, I hold a postgraduate certificate in Relationship and Sex Therapy. While I am not currently offering relationship therapy, this background contributed to my systemic perspective and knowledge of gender, sexual, and relationship diversities (GSRD).

What I offer

I provide private online therapy sessions for individuals aged 18 and older. As an online therapist based in the Central European Time (CET) zone, I offer flexible scheduling to accommodate clients in various time zones. My practice focuses on a range of mental health issues such as depression, anxiety, and complex trauma. To ensure the best care within my scope of practice, I do not work with individuals experiencing active suicidal or homicidal ideation (including plan or intent), psychosis, eating disorders, or addiction.
